The Quartette is an Atlas brick. Frequently a designer wants to scale down the visual appearance of the brick. In this case a slot is placed in the middle of the brick. To achieve a running bond pattern the brick must be laid in quarter or 3/4 bond. To allow the reinforcing to aligne, the coring must be modified and a starter unit is required at the corners.
